South Korea and Canada will sign a free trade agreement
According to the report of Yonhap news agency that South Korean President Park Geun-hye attended Johnston welcome banquet hosted by the Governor General of Canada on the 22nd and met with the Governor’s wife. Since last February Johnston visited to South Korea, this was the first time he met with Park Geun-hye again with one year and 7 months interval. South Korea and Canada will sign free trade agreements on the 23rd .
On 22th, Canada Governor General couple, two conutries’ government delegations, Korea travelers in Canada, Korean veterans, attended the banquet. Johnston said welcoming remarks and expressed a warm welcome to South Korean President Park Geun-hye came to Canada, he found broad areas of bilateral cooperation during last visited to South Korea, which made him very pleased. He believed that there was a great potential between two countries cooperation , two countries need strengthen cooperation, in trade, innovation and education fields.
In the next day, Park Geun-hye will hold summit talks with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and have lunch together, then attended the signing ceremony of relevant agreements between two counties, press conference talking results. After finish the visit iin Canada Park Geun-hye Han will leave for New York attend the 69th United Nations General Assembly from 23 to 24.
